Running one of the smallest active wineries in the entire Barolo region, with only 2.6 hectares of land, Luigi Baudana is a truly intrepid producer. In 2009, he joined the three GD Vajra brothers to create Barolos with new energy and with an uncompromising respect for tradition.
G.D. Vajra Luigi Baudana Barolo Baudana comes from 50-year-old vineyards located 350 metres above sea level. The vines are planted in blue clay soils and cultivated using respectful agriculture. The harvest is carried out manually at the optimum point of ripeness.
In the winery, the G.D. Vajra Luigi Baudana Barolo Baudana grapes ferment for 30 days plus another 10 days of maceration. Most of the must is fermented in a large oak barrel and some stainless steel containers. Finally the wine is aged in large Slavonian oak barrels for 32 months.
