About Conde de San Cristóbal

Conde de San Cristóbal is a red wine produced by Bodega y viñedos Conde de San Cristóbal in D.O. Ribera del Duero.

This winery was founded in 2008, belonging to Grupo Vinícola Marqués de Vargas. In regards to the location, it is located in Peñafiel (Valldolid).

Conde de San Cristóbal is produced from the varieties Tinta Fina (80%) and a small percentage of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The vines are 12 to 32 years old.

The agricultural methods are gentle to the environment, the winery doesn't use pesticides or herbicides, instead uses organic fertilisers.

The harvest is completed manually using small 15kg capacity containers during the first two weeks of September and the first week of October.

For production, after being destemmed, the grapes are placed in stainless steel tanks to ferment for 9-12 days at 20-24ºC.

Finally, Conde de San Cristóbal is aged for 12-14 months in new French, Russian and American oak barrels.

This red wine epitomizes the perfect harmony between potency and sophistication.
2012 Full-flavoured, wide and unctuous, abundance of red fruit sensations combined with fine roasted notes. Elegant and structured.

Cherry red with purple hues. Clean and bright.

Intense and fresh with aromas of ripened red fruit and smooth mineral and spicy notes.
2011 Lots of fruit. Full, fresh, powerful and very elegant. The wood is well integrated.

Picota red colour, well covered and clean.

A deep, complex aroma with lots of fresh, ripe and intense fruit, and touches of minerals and spices.
2009 Good attack and a good fleshy and tasty mid palate with well balanced tannins and acidity. Its long finish leaves hints of ripe fruit and fine toasted aromas. Pure elegance and complexity.

Intense and deep ruby red colour. Clean and dense wine.

High intensity nose in which the powerful notes of red fruit take center stage along with some good and noble toasted and roasted notes and some spicy hints on an intense and elegant mineral background.
2008 Wide attack and long, tasty, powerful and elegant mid palate. This wine has a velvety texture and lots of perfectly balanced fruity and wooden aromas. Well integrated tannins. Its long finish leaves toasted nuances.  A powerful and very elegant wine!

Intense red cherry red colour with maroon edges. Clean and bright wine with a high layer. Elegant tears and good tearfall.

Its abundant notes of very expressive and juicy ripe red and black fruit are mixed with a wide range of creamy spices, noble and elegant toasted and some animal hints. Elegant mineral background with deep balsamic aromas. A deep and complex red wine.
2006 Keeps all the fruit and it shows himself broad, fresh, powerful and elegant. Good integration of wood.
