Château Suduiraut 2025 is a sweet wine that promises a delightful experience from the very first sip. About Château Suduiraut

Throughout history, great discoveries have come about by chance or even by mistake. For example, they say that yoghurt was discovered through a careless shepherd who forgot the milk in his bag and then when he went to find it later on, he found a thick and delicious cream.  Likewise, noble rot, the grape responsible for some wonderful wines that sell for some very high prices, is the result of a fungus called botrytis cinerea that infects the grape but sometimes, if the temperature and humidity are right, the fruit dehydrates and develops a large amount of sugar. The result is a raw material of exquisite quality that can be used to produce wonderfully fine and concentrated sweet wines.

Sauternes, in France’s Bordeaux wine region, has the perfect climate for Botrytis cinerea infection. So, although production is risky because it depends entirely on the climate conditions each year, the truth is that Sauternes wines have always enjoyed a great reputation. Respectful wineries like Chateau Suduiraut, an important 200-hectare property classified as 1er Cru in the Bordeaux classification of 1855, release their wines as authentic works of art. Owned by the French insurance giant AXA, this estate, which dates back to 1580, boasts unique gravel, sand and clay soils and lush, sumptuous wines.

Its eponymous wine, Château Suduiraut, is a sweet wine made from the Semillon and Sauvignon Blanc varieties and is part of the AOC Sauternes Premier Cru Classe. It is harvested by hand in four harvests, taking into account the way the botrytised fruit is developing. In the winery the fermentation process stops naturally at a level of around 14% alcohol. The wine is then aged in oak barrels before being released for sale. The result is spectacular. The Château Suduiraut wine is characterised by an impressive balance between sweetness, freshness and longevity. Incredibly complex and with some beautiful sensations.
