About AT Roca Vinyes Velles

AT Roca Vinyes Velles is an organic sparkling wine Brut Nature Reserva crafted in Penedès (Catalonia) under the collective brand Corpinnat by AT Roca using the macabeo variety.
 
AT Roca is the personal venture of Agustí Torelló Sibill and his two sons Jordi and Agustí Torelló Roca, after parting ways with the family cellars. With several plots scattered across Penedès, a significant wine-producing region located 50 km from Barcelona, they champion indigenous varieties, organic viticulture, and meticulous winemaking. As a result, they produce wines that beautifully reflect the terroir. 
 
AT Roca Vinyes Velles originates from a 4.5-hectare vineyard situated at 340 meters above sea level in the Costers de l’Ordal area (Alt Penedès). These are old vines of the macabeo variety planted in 1968 on limestone shale soils. Certified organic farming is practiced, and the harvest is done manually at the optimal stage of ripeness.  
 
AT Roca Vinyes Velles is a sparkling wine produced following the traditional method or champenoise. It first ages for 10 months in barrel and then undergoes a second fermentation in the bottle with a minimum aging of 60 months. Finally, it is disgorged without adding expedition liqueur. 
 
Under the Corpinnat designation, AT Roca Vinyes Velles embodies the most authentic expression of the finest macabeos. A sparkling wine with 100% Penedès identity.

2015 AT Roca Esparter is a creamy sparkling wine with aromas of white fruit over a sweet spicy background and with hints of pastry and smoke. On the palate it is fresh, mineral and elegant. With a perfectly integrated bubble, it is sweet, unctuous and wide on the mid-palate. The finish is long with a pleasant aftertaste of pastry and toast.
