About Santa Cruz de Artazu Blanco

Santa Cruz de Artazu Blanco is a white wine, barrel made by Artazu in Navarre with the Garnacha Blanca variety.

Bodegas y Viñedos Artazu came into being in 1996 with 10 hectares of vineyards in the Navarre village which bears the same name. Belonging to the Artadi group of wineries, it consists of a project where the winemaker Juan Carlos López de Lacalle shows the great possibilities of the native Garnacha variety.

Santa Cruz de Artazu Blanco comes from vineyards located at 450 to 600 meters’ altitude on white calcareous clay soil. Organic viticulture is practiced, respecting the environment and without using pesticides or herbicides. Yield is limited to 2,500 kg/ ha and grapes are manually harvested and placed in 15 kg boxes.

Once the bunches and berries of Santa Cruz de Artazu Blanco have been selected, they’re gently pressed and the must obtained is fermented in barrels for 6 weeks. Finally, the wine ages in stainless steel tank for 27 months on its lees, with periodic movements.

Santa Cruz de Artazu Blanco originated with the intention of recovering the white Grenache of Navarre. A wine to discover with sensations of depth and authenticity.
2015 Santa Cruz de Artazu Blanco 2015 is a creamy white wine with aromas of stone fruit, citrus notes and hints of spice. On the palate it’s fresh, unctuous and delicate. With a very balanced acidity and subtle notes of minerality.
