About Òrbita Venus Macabeu Trepat

Son of one of the pioneers of the new Priorat, René Barbier Meyer has followed in his father's footsteps with equal passion and audacity. This is evident in his new brand Òrbita Venus with its collection "Puños Fuera," one of his latest ventures presented in a playful and bold manner, its name referencing the battle cry of his favourite childhood cartoons (Mazinger Z). This is a collection of wines that, with the assistance of Succés Vinícola and Carlania, two wineries from the Conca de Barberà (Catalonia), experiments with Mediterranean techniques and varieties to craft wines of low alcohol content and high satisfaction. A project that reflects a desire to break with conventions, to play with the senses, and to offer a unique experience with a nod to nostalgia.

One of these wines, Òrbita Venus Macabeu Trepat, is crafted from the macabeo and trepat varieties sourced from two estates located in the village of Barberà de la Conca. The vineyard is organically farmed, without chemical additives, and the harvest is done manually at the optimal moment of ripeness. In the winery, part of the grapes are directly pressed while the remaining portion macerates with the skins for a week. Fermentation is carried out with indigenous yeasts, and subsequently, each wine is aged separately in old barrels for 6 months. Finally, the tank is opened to initiate a biological aging process for another 6 months.

Unique, distinctive, and natural, Òrbita Venus Macabeu Trepat is a groundbreaking rosé that defies expectations. A different wine that, thanks to its biological aging, captivates both connoisseurs and newcomers to the world of wine.
