About Isabelle et Denis Pommier Chablis 1er Cru Troesmes

The Chablis Wine Competition ("Concours des Vins de Chablis") is a highly prestigious annual event held in the Burgundy region, specifically in Chablis, one of France's most significant wine-producing areas. This competition aims to showcase the excellence of wines made exclusively from the Chardonnay variety, the region's emblematic grape. It was here that Isabelle et Denis Pommier made a grand entrance, earning a gold medal in the Chablis wine competition shortly after they began producing their own wines. This small family project, which started in 1990 with just 2 hectares, has now expanded to 20 hectares encompassing the finest terroirs in the area.

This is how they present Isabelle et Denis Pommier Chablis 1er Cru Troesmes, a wine from their best Premier Cru, Troesmes, a steep southern slope that receives maximum sunlight and whose soils are distinguished by the exclusive Kimmeridgian limestone. The Chardonnay vines, aged between 30 and 70 years and certified organic since 2014, are harvested and selected by hand. In the winery, the destemmed grapes are gently pressed, and the resulting must ferments with indigenous yeasts, 70% in stainless steel tanks and the remaining 30% in oak barrels. The wine then ages in wood for 18 months before being bottled.

Born from one of the region's finest terroirs, it stands out for its profound elegance and mineral complexity, characteristics that make it a benchmark among Premier Cru wines.
