About Château Gloria

The expression “estar en la gloria” is used to say that someone is completely comfortable. A clear reference to the word used in the Catholic church to refer to heaven where God is and where the souls of the blessed go. A symbol of praise and adoration which, considering the accolades it receives vintage after vintage, is certainly a perfect match for the wine of the same name from Château Gloria. And it is because this winery in the AOC Saint-Julien which, unlike its neighbours, does not have a long history in the region (it dates back to 1903), enjoys a commendable reputation thanks to its consistently elegant and age-worthy wines. Created after almost 60 years of Henri Martin acquiring different plots in magnificent regions, today Château Gloria is made up of 48 hectares located on the left bank of the Saint-Julien denomination.

The wine in question, Château Gloria, is a blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Vines with an average age of 40 years old are planted on gravel soils with clay and sand subsoil and are respectfully cultivated with a minimum density of 6,500 plants per hectare and manually harvested when the grapes reach optimum ripeness. In the winery, fermentation takes place at a controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks and then the wine is aged for 14 months in French oak barrels, 40% of which are new.

So, if you want to enjoy a lovely wine from the AOC Saint-Julien at a very reasonable price, Château Gloria is the wine for you. A pure, silky and elegant red wine that will make you feel like you’ve ascended to glory. There must be a reason why many are in awe of it having just tasted it.
