About Bosque de Matasnos Petit Blanco de Matasnos

Deep within the Highlands of the Ribera del Duero lies a forest steeped in its own history, a place that lends its name to unique wines: the Bosque de Matasnos. What began as a blighted forest, its name a tribute to the hundreds of donkeys that gave their lives helping to clear timber to make way for cereal cultivation, has now transformed into a mesmerising space where nature once again expresses itself freely and coexists with viticulture to produce exceptional wines. A singular place that harbours centuries of memories and invites us to listen to its soul through each bottle.

The winery Bosque de Matasnos was born from a passion for preserving the identity of the Ribera Alta del Duero and sharing it with the world through wines that respect their environment. Jaime Postigo oversees every step, from vineyard to winery, accompanied by a team dedicated to quality and tradition. This project embodies a perfect balance between innovation and respect for the land, where history and modernity join hands to create wines of distinction (in every sense).

Bosque de Matasnos Petit Blanco de Matasnos is a white wine from old vines planted in 1920, at an altitude of 950 metres, crafted with a blend of viognier, chardonnay, verdejo, and albillo mayor. Harvesting is done manually in 10-kilogram crates, with grape clusters transported under temperature control and each variety fermented separately, half in 500-litre fine and extra-fine grain barrels from the forest of Tronçais (France) and half on lees in stainless steel. The result is a white wine that marries freshness, complexity, and varietal expression.

Petit Blanco de Matasnos invites you to enter its forest: fruity and floral notes that evoke the surrounding nature, with a fresh and vibrant body that remains balanced thanks to the slow maturation and thermal contrasts of its high plateau. Perfect for pairing with seafood, fatty fish, or a celebratory table, this wine offers a moment of enjoyment that reflects the history, passion, and unique environment of the Highlands of the Ribera del Duero, turning each bottle into a legacy to be remembered.
