About Eulogio Pomares Castiñeiro Albariño

Eulogio Pomares Castiñeiro Albariño is a barrel-aged white wine crafted by Eulogio Pomares in the D.O. Rías Baixas (Galicia) using the albariño variety.
 
After achieving success in the family winery Zárate, Eulogio Pomares, the fifth generation of Galician vintners in Rías Baixas, continues with his own personal project in the Galician smallholdings, covering ten hectares of vineyard. He has now become one of the leading winemakers in Galicia, producing exceptional wines through very unique vinifications.
 
Eulogio Pomares Castiñeiro Albariño originates from a mere 0.3-hectare plot named Castiñeiro, located in the Val do Salnés (Pontevedra). These are vines planted in predominantly granitic soil with a significant Atlantic influence. Sustainable agriculture is practiced, and the harvest is done manually.
 
The grapes for Eulogio Pomares Castiñeiro Albariño are whole-cluster pressed directly in a pneumatic press. The resulting must ferments and ages in white clay amphorae and remains on its fine lees for 6 months without batonnage.
 
Eulogio Pomares Castiñeiro Albariño is the result of a deep immersion and exploration into the finest and most unknown terroirs of Rias Baixas. A delightful white wine with very limited production.
