About Chavy-Chouet Les Femelottes Bourgogne Blanc

In the heart of Bourgogne, the great wines are born not only from the grape but from the land that embraces it. At Chavy-Chouet, the project's treasure lies in its exceptional plots: Les Narvaux, Les Charmes, and Les Genevères in Meursault, the exclusive Clos de Corvées de Citeau, and in Saint-Aubin, among others. Yet, it is not just the locations that matter: the vineyards, some up to 70 years old, cultivated without herbicides for 30 years and organically for several years, are the true jewel of the estate.

Behind these parcels stands Romaric Chavy, the eighth generation of a family devoted to wine. Romaric took over the estate in 2014 following the death of his father, Hubert Chavy, who established the winery in 1982 and whose renown was due not only to his winemaking but also to his charisma and ability to impart knowledge. Romaric learned from him, and after six years in a specialised school and viticulture experiences around the world, he has transformed Chavy-Chouet with an approach that combines precision, tradition, and innovation, respecting the family heritage while imprinting his own vision.

Among his wines, Chavy-Chouet Les Femelottes Bourgogne Blanc is a perfect embodiment of this philosophy. The grapes come from a 3-hectare plot near Puligny-Montrachet, with 40-year-old vines on clay and sandy soils. After harvest, the wine is aged for 10 months in oak barrels, 10% of which are new, preserving the freshness and character of the Burgundian Chardonnay.
