About Abadía Retuerta Le Domaine Blanco

Abadía Retuerta Le Domaine Blanco is a white wine made by the Abadía Retuerta winery in Sardón de Duero (Valladolid), in the DOP Abadía Retuerta.

Abadía Retuerta was set up in 1996, with the vines planted a few years earlier, in 1991 and 1994. They began classifying the soils according to their composition and altitude, and they started treating each vineyard individually, thinking ahead to the wine they would produce.

The Abadía Retuerta vines lie 700 to 850 metres above sea level. The local climate is mostly continental, where winters are usually cold and summers are hot, the perfect weather for the grapes to ripen properly and for the vines to maintain balance.

These conditions, together with the best technology from one of the most advanced wineries in Europe, result in excellent wines, with the full character of the terroir and the potential of each variety.

Abadía Retuerta Le Domaine Blanco is a white wine made with Sauvignon Blanc, Verdejo and a small amount of Godello, all from an estate lying on a north-facing slope, with soils comprised of sand and pebbles.

The grapes are harvested and then selected on a selection table. The must ferments in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. The wine is aged in French oak barrels for 5 months.
