About Abadía da Cova Fudre

Abadía da Cova Fudre is a single-varietal of Mencía covered by the D.O. Ribeira Sacra, produced by Adegas Moure in Lugo. The harvest is manual and the grapes are collected in boxes of 20 Kg, then the grapes are selected upon arrival at the winery. They are macerated for 6 days. The must then ferments for 8 more days at less than 28º C and subsequently a malolactic fermentation takes place. The wine is not clarified before being bottled.

Abadía da Cova Fudre 2021 is a red wine that, on the nose, stands out for its intense aromas of ripe black fruit, herbal hints, and a balsamic background with spicy and floral notes. On the palate, it is fresh and balanced, with good acidity, soft tannins, and a light yet fruity passage. Its finish is long and persistent. A well-rounded and elegant red wine, with a subtle delicacy on the palate.
 
2011 Shows good attack, light, agile, fruity and smooth on the palate. Very good acidity and some soft tannins. Well-structured, balanced, lively, meaty, tender, and a hint of warmth. Long finish, with a very pleasant and persistent bitter touch that leaves nuances of licorice fruits and fragrant flowers in the retro-olfaction. A round red wine without edges, more subtle on the palate than in the nose.

Intense picota cherry colour with violet rim. Medium-high robe. Clean and bright. Abundant tears shown on the glass.

High intensity, very fruity. Powerful aromas of black fruit prevail. Ripe. Licorice tones, accompanied by herbal notes and moist soil. A balsamic, slightly spicy background with subtle floral hints.
2008 After nose clean and powerful, fruity and floral character. Well built, balanced, smooth, live bait and a point of tenderness and warmth.

Red cherry, well covered, brilliant.

Powerful nose clean, attractive, very fruity and distinctive personality.
