There is something fascinating about discovering such a unique bottle within a winery capable of producing wine on a vast scale. Located in Jerez (Spain), Williams & Humbert is one of the largest wineries in Europe, yet Williams Fino en Rama Alboreá emerges from its smaller, more patient side: a selection of old vines, a specific vintage, and sufficient time to allow this fortified wine to find its own voice.
 
The story of Williams & Humbert began in 1877, when Sir Alexander Williams and Arthur Humbert combined their knowledge of Sherry wines with an international vocation. Since then, generations of professionals have kept alive a way of understanding the craft in which barrels, the landscape, and the passage of time continue to play an essential role. Today, their wines travel to more than 80 countries, yet some productions retain that intimate character that only appears when time is allowed to do its work.
 
Williams Fino en Rama Alboreá comes from old vines in the Añina and Carrascal vineyards, planted on the characteristic albariza (white limestone soil) typical of the Jerez region. It is a vintage expression, aged for nine years statically in a selection of American oak barrels, without following the traditional solera system. It then reaches the bottle en rama, almost exactly as it leaves the barrel, preserving the personality that the flor yeast has developed over those years. The result is a fino with depth, structure, and a very particular elegance.
 
Williams Fino en Rama Alboreá is one of those wines that makes a simple table feel a little more special: seafood, ham, some good nuts, and a conversation that stretches on without watching the clock.
