About Villa Spinosa Amarone Valpolicella Classico

Every winery has a story and every story is linked to the land. For Villa Spinosa, a winery located in Negrar di Valpolicella, in the province of Verona (Italy), their story is closely linked to the unique hillsides. A wonderful landscape marked by rows of vines, olive trees and cherry trees that the Villa Spinosa family reflects in each of their wines. Amarone Valpolicella Classico, their flagship wine, encompasses all this nature, culture and tradition. A true ambassador of the house and, of course, of the DOC Amarone della Valpolicella Classico.

With an area of 18 hectares of vineyards lying at an altitude of 240-300 metres above sea level, Amarone Valpolicella Classico is made from three native varieties: Corvina, Corvinone and Rondinella. Harvesting is done by hand, the grapes are carefully selected and carried in small baskets. In the winery, the berries are gently destemmed and crushed. Fermentation lasts approximately 4-5 weeks and aging takes 12 months in 500-litre French oak barrels and 12 months in Slavonian foudres. Finally, the wine spends 12 months in the bottle before being sold.

Being the youngest wine of the house, Amarone Valpolicella Classico is the ultimate expression of the land. A true ambassador of Valpolicella which, although young, has a great future ahead of it.

 

2017

Villa Spinosa Amarone Valpolicella Classico 2017 is a concentrated red wine with aromas of ripe red and black fruit, balsamic notes of aromatic herbs and hints of sweet spice. On the palate it is rich, silky and rounded. A wine with excellent structure, pleasant acidity and a long, warm finish.
