About Vega Sicilia Único Reserva Especial

Vega Sicilia Único Reserva Especial is a red wine from the DO Ribera del Duero crafted by Bodegas y Viñedos Vega Sicilia. This wine is a blend of various vintages. The finest vintages of Vega Sicilia Único are combined to produce this iconic wine.

In each of these vintages, the grape harvest of the tinto fino and cabernet sauvignon varieties is conducted following a meticulous selection process of the berries. The transport to the winery is carried out using small crates, ensuring the grapes remain intact and retain their characteristic freshness.

Once at the winery, the grapes are destemmed and then macerate at a controlled temperature. The must of Vega Sicilia Único undergoes an initial fermentation in various wooden and stainless steel containers. It then ages for two years in large wooden vats.

Ultimately, the blend of the three vintages is created, and Vega Sicilia Único Reserva Especial rests for at least 18 months in new barrels and another 30 months in used barrels.
