About Fulcro Aliaxe

Fulcro Aliaxe is a red wine blend of the caiño tinto, espadeiro, and loureiro varieties produced by the winery Fulcro under the DO Rías Baixas in Galicia, Spain.

Manuel Moldes, affectionately called “Chicho” by his friends, is a prominent name making waves in the Galician wine scene. He crafts authentic and distinctive signature wines that differ significantly from the usual styles in the Rías Baixas, where, while continuing the production of the region's characteristic Albariño whites, he has provided a haven for red wine enthusiasts with the potential to produce fresh and exceptionally high-quality wines.

Fulcro Aliaxe is crafted from clusters grown in vineyards with soils composed of clay, schist, and granite, with vines aged between 20 and 70 years. The grapes are destemmed and fermented with their indigenous yeasts in open tanks where they also macerate for 40 days. The resulting wine undergoes several months of ageing in used 300-litre barrels.

Fulcro Aliaxe is a highly individual wine that does not undergo malolactic fermentation to preserve its full freshness. In essence, it is a remarkable Galician red crafted in a land of whites that captivates and astonishes both locals and outsiders.
