Finca El Terrerazo Vino de Pago 2023 is a red wine that immediately reveals an enveloping character rich in nuances, where ripe red fruit intertwines with smoky notes, subtle spices, and a delicate hint of Mediterranean scrubland. On the palate, it flows naturally with medium body and precise delineation, leaving a savoury and well-defined impression supported by fine, silky, calcareous tannins. About Finca El Terrerazo Vino de Pago

Finca Terrerazo is a red wine from the D.O. El Terrerazo produced by the winery Mustiquillo.

This winery is situated in Terrerazo-Utiel (Valencia) and boasts 87 hectares of its own vineyards in Pago El Terrerazo, a terroir that, due to its distinctiveness, has enjoyed the privilege of being a new D.O.P. (Protected Designation of Origin) since 2010.

Finca Terrerazo is crafted entirely from the Bobal variety, an indigenous grape that the winery strives to revive. The grapes are sourced from old vines aged between 40 and 65 years, characterized by low yields.

The vineyards are planted on calcareous soils of dolomitic origin at an altitude ranging from 800 to 824 metres. Organic viticulture is employed in their cultivation.

In the production of Finca Terrerazo, traditional vinification methods are employed. After complete destemming and gentle crushing of the grapes, the must ferments in 35hl oak vats for 8-10 days. Subsequently, a post-fermentation maceration is carried out for 12-16 days.

Finally, Finca Terrerazo undergoes an extended maturation for several months in French oak barrels.

With Finca Terrerazo, the winery aims to convey the unique characteristics of a distinctive terroir, which has succeeded in becoming its own D.O.

On the nose, it is distinguished by its fruity expression, revealing aromas of cherry, blackberry, and a mineral touch that adds complexity. On the palate, the entry is enveloping and its progression is silky, with a well-balanced acidity that enhances its freshness. Finca El Terrerazo Vino de Pago 2021 is a red wine that authentically reflects the terroir in its purest form, devoid of artifices. Crafted from old-vine Bobal, it stands out for its freshness and good acidity, hallmarks of a cooler year. Its bouquet offers delicate floral notes and red fruits, while on the palate it reveals smooth and elegant tannins. This wine boasts great finesse, with a fine structure that accentuates the freshness and elegance of the variety. A clear example of how Bobal can be both sophisticated and fresh simultaneously.
2012 Warm and enveloping entry. Silky, fruity and sweet, herbaceous sensations with hints of red and black fruit. Acidity is well balanced with ripe tannins. Lingering finish.

Cherry red high layer, intense and expressive.

Medium-high aromatic intensity. Presence of red and black fruit with roasted and herbaceous notes. Soft mineral background.
2011 It has an elegant, warm and sweet attack, a silky, glyceride mid-palate with a lot of volume. Ripe and persistent tannins and a magisterial acidity, very well structured. It leaves mineral and fruity sensations in the mid-palate which ends with a long and very pleasant finish. A non-stop sensation.

A clean and medium-high intensity nose which has aromas from its ageing, 18 months in French oak barrels. As it opens, it shows ripe black fruit, crunchy, smooth, embraced by mineral and spiced notes, aromatic herbs and roasted sweet hints.
2010 It has an elegant, warm and sweet attack and a silky, glyceride and full-bodied mid-palate. Ripe and persistent tannins and flawless acidity, very well-structured. It leaves mineral and fruity sensations which ends with a long and very pleasant finish. A non-stop sensation.
