About Bricco Ernesto Bianco

Ernesto, the grandfather of Renato Vezza, refused to sell the hill he owned at the top of the Roero in Piedmont. He thought of his grandson and was convinced that one day he would make good use of that land. Over time, that plot remained a silent secret, while the grapes were sold to Barolo houses and Renato travelled the world, first in London as a sommelier and then in Canada as a sushi chef, never losing his passion for his homeland's wines.

But when his father suggested, "If you don't want to use it, sell it", something stirred within Renato. Until then, that area of Roero was not well-known; it lived in the shadow of Barolo and Barbaresco, and few had faith in its vineyards. Yet Renato felt compelled to try.

Thus was born Bricco Ernesto Bianco, a wine that is both a family tribute and a personal endeavour. From this hill, with its calcareous, clayey, and sandy soils and an altitude of 300 metres, arneis vines are cultivated following ecological practices, with every detail of the vineyard being carefully attended to.

It is a limited production of merely 2,000 bottles annually of a skin-contact white, which rests for 100 days on its skins in wood, transforming into an elegant, complex, and characterful orange wine.

Bricco Ernesto Bianco is the result of the courage of someone who dares to create something unique in a forgotten place. A wine that reflects the uniqueness of its hill, showcasing a delicate, mineral, and vibrant character.
