Yeni Raki is a clear anise-flavored spirit with a smooth and delightful aniseed taste that, unlike other anise spirits, is less sweet. It can be enjoyed neat or diluted with a portion of water and a couple of ice cubes. It is recommended to be served at temperatures between 8 °C and 10 °C. Superb as both an aperitif and a digestif.

About Yeni Raki Turkish Liqueur

Raki is a traditional anise-flavored spirit of significant importance and presence within Turkish culture, often associated with celebratory occasions.
 
Yeni Raki is crafted from high-quality grape juice and aniseed grown in Turkey (Pimpinella Anisum), the key ingredient that imparts its distinctive flavor and character.
 
The product of the distillation of fermented grape must is known as suma. The suma is then redistilled, either on its own or blended with ethyl alcohol of agricultural origin and this particular aniseed, in traditional copper stills, which bestows upon it a unique taste.
 
Due to its high alcohol content, Yeni Raki is customarily consumed in a glass to which water is slowly added (equal parts of the finest quality water and raki), and finally, a couple of ice cubes are introduced.
 
When raki interacts with water, a common reaction known as "louche" occurs, causing the liquid to shift from clear to a milky white hue due to the dissolution of the aniseed's essential oils; this mixture is also referred to as Aslan Sütü or "lion's milk". For an ideal flavor, it is recommended that the glass, the raki, and the water be chilled to temperatures between 8°C to 10°C.
