About Rafael Cambra Uno

Rafael Cambra Uno is a red wine produced by Rafael Cambra in Alforins, Valencia, under the D.O. Valencia. The work philosophy of the winery is to intervene as little as possible, and let the character of the vineyard define the wine. The winery is defined as a garage winery (bodega de garaje), i.e one that works on notably small proportions.
 

The vineyard is composed of mainly the Monastrell and Cabernet Sauvignon grape varieties, and is home to calcareous-clay soils and a clearly Mediterranean climate.
 

Rafael Cambra Uno is made exclusively with the Monastrell grape variety, grown on old vines and harvested by hand in small 8kg boxes. Fermentation is carried out using indigenous grapes for 2 weeks in stainless steel tanks. Following this, the wine is aged for 10 months in 500litre barrels.
