About Eloi Cedó Fato

Eloi Cedó Fato is a natural red wine made by Sistema Vinari with the Callet, Manto Negro and Escursac varieties in Majorca, in the Balearic Islands (Spain).

Eloi Cedó, former member of the 4 kilos winemaking family, set up his own project in 2010 with the aim of having fun with his friends. In 2012, what started as a bit of fun turned into a business and under the name Sistema Vinari, he began creating micro productions marked by the Mediterranean winds of Majorca.

Eloi Cedó Fato comes from native vines that grow in red chalky-clay soils that are very rich in iron, lying 100 to 200 metres above sea level. Although the vineyards are not certified, they are cultivated using organic agriculture and no chemical products, working to maintain the natural balance of the terroir.

In the winery, the grapes used to make Eloi Cedó Fato are crushed ready to macerate and ferment with native yeasts and no oenological additives. The wine then ages in large, used French oak barrels for 12 months. The wine is finally bottled without clarifying, filtering or adding sulphites.

Eloi Cedó Fato is the cult wine from Eloi Cedó, a Catalan who, captivated by Majorca’s terroirs, had the courage to create the most original, small and natural productions. Seductive island rarities that sell out quickly.

 

2019

Fato 2019 is a smooth red wine with a perfumed nose of fresh fruit, notes of Mediterranean herbs and subtle spicy hints. On the palate it is juicy, fresh and very balanced. A medium-bodied red wine with fine tannins and a fresh finish.
