Domaine de L'Arlot Nuits-Saint-Georges 1st Cru Mont Oiseaux is a monovarietal Pinot Noir red wine produced by Domaine de L'Arlot under the AOC Nuits-Saint-Georges Premier Cru/ Côte d'Dor in Burgundy, France.
Domaine de L'Arlot Nuits-Saint-Georges 1st Cru Mont Oiseaux is a limited production wine made from the youngest vines from the Monopole estate where the wine Domaine de L'Arlot Nuits-Saint-Georges 1st Cru Clos de L'Arlot is obtained. The Pinot Noir bunches come from the upper part of the Clos, where soils composed of white limestone predominate, and from a plot of young vines located at the bottom of the Clos which has marl soils.
Domaine de L'Arlot Nuits-Saint-Georges 1st Cru Mont Oiseaux goes through a traditional vinification process. The resulting wine is aged in French oak barrels, 30% of which are second-use, for a time which can range from 15 to 18 months depending on the vintage.
The name Mont Oiseaux refers to the narrow path which runs from La Gerbotte to the old quarry where this plot of Pinot Noir is located.
Domaine de L'Arlot is a century-old renowned Burgundian winery where some of the area's most sought-after wines are made. Since 2000, they’ve worked under the principles of organic agriculture and in 2003 they began to apply biodynamic precepts with the aim of changing the perception of vine cultivation and returning to ancestral methods. They also avoid the use of chemical products so life can begin anew and so their wines are a true reflection of the character and quality obtained from the different terrains where its vines grow.
