Crystallum The Agnes Chardonnay 2023 is a white wine that caresses the senses like the ocean breeze at sunset. On the nose, delicate notes of seashells and wet stone intertwine with the subtle sweetness of ripe yellow fruits. On the palate, it is expansive and silky, with nuances of golden apple, salted caramel, and a citrus hint that imparts freshness. The finish is subtly saline, long, almost mystical, with a marine echo that invites dreams of distant shores. Refined, fortified wine, and in perfect balance.

About Crystallum The Agnes Chardonnay 2019

Crystallum The Agnes Chardonnay is a wood-aged white wine made by Crystallum with the Chardonnay variety in Walker Bay, on the South Coast of the Western Cape (South Africa).

Crystallum is a family winery in the Walker Bay region of South Africa. Brothers Andrew and Peter-Allan, the family’s third generation, now carry the legacy of pioneering parents and grandparents by producing Pinot Noir wines in the region.

Crystallum The Agnes Chardonnay comes from five vineyards in the renowned wine regions of Hemel-en-Aarde and Overberg. The vines are cultivated using environmentally-friendly agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness.

Crystallum The Agnes Chardonnay is vinified using the traditional method of transferring the whole grape bunches directly into the press and placing the must in a settling tank. The wine then ferments and ages for 9 months in 228- and 500-litre French oak barrels, 10% of which are new.

Crystallum The Agnes Chardonnay was made as a tribute to the winemakers’ great-grandmother, Agnes Floyd. A brave woman who arrived in South Africa when she was only 14 years old and who, like her wine, stood out for her strong, resistant and complex personality.

Crystallum The Agnes Chardonnay 2019 is a creamy white wine with complex aromas of tropical fruit, citrus notes and hints of caramel. On the palate it is rich, crisp and unctuous. A wine with a persistent citrus flavour, balanced acidity and an enveloping finish.
