17/04/2020 Breaking news

Programme recommendations for wine lovers. This is our second post of suggestions to keep yourself occupied with wine-related content. If you missed the first part, you can read it here.

6- The liquid revolution: a look at the world of sommeliers today.

Clara Isamat, photojournalist and sommelier, interviews the sector’s renowned specialists to learn about the changes that are happening in restaurants’ wineries. A people-centred revolution that is working to create unique experiences for diners.

7- La Clef des terroirs: reinventing viticulture.

Released in 2011 by Guillaume Bodin, this documentary explains how biodynamics is taking over the world of wine. Based on the ideas of philosopher Rudolf Steiner, winemakers who make their wines with particular respect both for the vineyards and in the winery, explain why they are taking part in the green revolution.

8- The Wine Van: a travel series for millennials.

With the aim of introducing young people to the world of wine, Amazon Prime Video has created this hilarious programme where the outlandish protagonist, Ian Chapman, visits the different wine regions in his van and explains basic concepts in a friendly and casual way.

9- Sour Grapes.

Although this could be a fascinating fiction script, this documentary tells a true story. Based on the story of Rudy Kurniawan, one of the most famous fraudsters in the world of wine, this programme reveals how he forged expensive wines in his home studio and auctioned them off as authentic works of art.

10- Decanted: the triumph of Napa.

Nick Kovacic travels the Californian Napa Valley to follow the journey of eight winemakers who made a success of this region’s wines. A perfect combination of wine, food and tourism that has made this an essential destination for wine lovers.

We hope that these recommendations will give you a little more of in insight into the world of wine and make isolation a bit more bearable. We would of course recommend watching them as they should be watched. And that means with a nice glass of wine in hand.
