Tasting notes Vermouth Rojo La Copa Reserva
Vermouth Aged in wood. 12 meses en barrica.
Boasting a deep amber hue, Vermouth Rojo La Copa Reserva unveils intense aromas of dried fruits, spices, and a subtle note of bitter orange. On the palate, it is smooth and balanced, with a slight bitterness interwoven with hints of cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg, contributing complexity and depth. Its aging in American oak casks seasoned with olorosos imparts a distinctive character that highlights its origin in the wine of Jerez.
About Vermouth Rojo La Copa Reserva
In 1896, González Byass was already bottling its vermouth using century-old recipes that combined the richness of Sherry wine with the art of maceration. Today, more than a century later, the Jerez winery revives that heritage in Vermouth Rojo La Copa Reserva, an elixir that transports us to the elegance of a bygone era with each sip.
The story of González Byass is one of unwavering passion for wine. Founded in 1835 in Jerez de la Frontera, the winery has built a legacy that transcends generations, being a global benchmark in the production of wines and brandies of exceptional quality. With its distinctive hallmark, the house keeps tradition and excellence alive, combining historical expertise with an innovative vision.
Vermouth Rojo La Copa Reserva is a sophisticated expression of this mastery. Its base, composed of noble soleras of Olorosos and Pedro Ximénez, is enriched with a meticulous selection of botanicals: wormwood, savory, clove, bitter orange, cinnamon, nutmeg, angelica, and cinchona. The aging process of 12 months in American oak casks previously seasoned with Olorosos for two years (Sherry Cask) imparts unique complexity and depth. On the palate, its balance between sweetness and bitterness, along with spicy and citrus notes, makes it an unmistakable vermouth, with the essence of Sherry wine in every drop.
Perfect for reviving the classic "vermouth hour," it is best enjoyed chilled, either on its own or in sophisticated cocktails. Its versatile character makes it ideal for accompanying appetizers such as roasted almonds, aged cheeses, or even delicate white chocolate. More than just a vermouth, La Copa Rojo Reserva is a tribute to time, tradition, and the pleasure of authenticity.
