Tasting notes Talisker 14 Years Old Special Release 2025 con estuche

Whisky (75 cl.).

Talisker 14 Years Old Special Release is a single malt whisky that elegantly embodies the spirit of the Isle of Skye. On the nose, it presents as smooth yet expressive, with a dry profile where marine and mineral notes emerge, alongside subtle vegetal nuances and an underlying hint of fruit, particularly white grapes. On the palate, it is silky and enveloping, with a well-achieved balance between sweetness and salinity that evolves into a restrained spiciness, accompanied by a well-integrated echo of peat. The finish is long and dry, with hints of pink pepper, a slight smokiness, and a sensation that invites one to pause for a moment, like a cold breeze arriving from the sea and lingering on the palate. Add a few drops of water and you will feel how all its nuances intensify.

About Talisker 14 Years Old Special Release con estuche

There are bottles you drink... and others that take you on a journey. This belongs to the latter category. From the Isle of Skye (Scotland), where the wind cuts across your face and the sea is never still, Talisker has been distilling more than just whisky for nearly two centuries: character. And in this special edition, it has taken it a step further.

The story begins in 1830, when the MacAskill brothers decided to establish their distillery in Carbost, overlooking Loch Harport, in a landscape as untamed as it is inspiring. Since then, Talisker has withstood fires, changes in direction, and the passage of time without losing its essence: a style marked by the sea, salt, and that wild touch that makes it unmistakable. Here, there is no artifice, only origin.

Talisker 14 Years Old Special Release is not merely about tradition. It's about reinterpreting it with attitude. Part of its soul originates in ex-bourbon casks, but the intrigue comes afterwards: a finish in American oak toasted with the heat of volcanic rocks from the island itself. In the glass, everything aligns naturally: first, that quintessentially maritime Talisker profile—saline, mineral—and then the twist: sweeter smoke, vibrant spices, and a surprisingly silky texture for its intensity. With a few drops of water, it opens up and becomes even more expressive.

The result is a whisky that doesn't seek to explain itself, but to be felt. Wild, yet refined. Intense, yet elegant. Perfect for an evening when you desire something out of the ordinary, something with a story... and also a conversation. Because there are bottles that are merely drunk, yes. But others—like this one—are remembered.
