About Nicolas Mariotti Bindi Suchju

Those who educate you leave an indelible mark, and this is something that Nicolas Mariotti Bindi embodies in each of his wines. After abandoning his law studies in Paris, Nicolas took a radical turn towards winemaking, beginning in the esteemed Moulin à Vent appellation in Beaujolais. There, he mastered the intricacies of winemaking and the importance of respecting the fruit, lessons that continue to guide his vineyard work to this day.

With this solid foundation, he decided to return to his roots in Corsica to work in his native region. Today, he cultivates 15 hectares of organic vineyards, each plot meticulously tended to with precision and care, adhering to sustainable viticulture principles that aim to faithfully reflect the terroir. The cultivation is limited to the essentials, the harvest is manual, and the grapes are transported in 500-litre crates to prevent damage.

From this approach emerges Suchju—meaning “juice” in Corsican—a 100% niellucciu crafted as a fresh and easy-drinking red. The vinification process is influenced by Beaujolais: carbonic maceration and fermentation, with the cap gently punched down each day, avoiding aggressive extraction to preserve the finesse of the tannins. After months of ageing in concrete tanks, the wine is bottled without clarification or filtration, with minimal SO₂ usage indicated on the label.

The result is a juicy, elegant wine brimming with energy, where fruit, minerality, and the authenticity of the terroir converge in every sip. Suchju is the expression of a learning journey that left an everlasting impact on Nicolas, a tribute to patience, respect for the land, and the pleasure of drinking with authenticity.
