About El Andén de la Estación

El Andén de la Estación is a barrel-aged red wine crafted by Bodegas Muga using the tempranillo and garnacha varieties.

Muga is a renowned winery of the DOCa Rioja founded in 1932 by Isaac Muga Martínez. Currently, the project is based in the winemaking heart of Haro, in the Barrio de la Estación, with an expansive family-run winery that now owns 200 hectares of its own vineyards, managed by the third generation with the same distinctive personality and character.

El Andén de la Estación originates from vineyards nestled on the slopes of the Montes Obarenes, in the heart of Rioja Alta. These vines are planted on tertiary clay-limestone soils and, upon reaching 15 years of age, are reserved for the production of their esteemed wine Muga Reserva. The vines are traditionally cultivated, with harvesting conducted at the optimal point of ripeness.

As one of the few Spanish wineries with its own cooperage, El Andén de la Estación macerates and ferments in large, self-produced wooden barrels. Following malolactic fermentation, the wine ages for a minimum of 14 months in used oak barrels.

El Andén de la Estación is a red wine produced in one of the most iconic wineries of the DOCa Rioja. It is a classic from La Rioja Alta, offering exceptional value for money.
