On the nose, it reveals intense notes of ripe red fruits such as cherries and plums, interwoven with enticing spicy aromas reminiscent of pepper and clove. About Mauro Terreus Paraje de Cueva Baja

Terreus Paraje de Cueva Baja is an estate red wine crafted by Bodegas Mauro in Castilla y León, under the expertise of Mariano García, renowned for his tenure as the winemaker at Vega Sicilia for nearly three decades.
Terreus is a single-varietal wine made from the tempranillo grape, sourced from a small plot of merely three hectares, featuring very old vines planted in loose clay-sandy soil.
Bodegas Mauro engages in organic farming, abstaining from the use of herbicides and showing utmost respect for the native fauna and the vineyard's natural reserves.

The harvest is conducted manually, with the grapes being transported to the winery in small 15 kg boxes. Once at the winery, a meticulous selection process is undertaken to eliminate any clusters not in optimal condition.

After selection, the grapes are gravity-fed into tanks where fermentation occurs with indigenous yeasts from the vineyard itself. Following fermentation, a maceration period of two to three weeks ensues. Terreus undergoes an ageing process of 33 months in French oak barrels, imparting exceptional finesse and harmony.

We recommend decanting it a couple of hours before enjoying. One of the great wines of Castilla y León. Intense, powerful, and very fruity. An exceptional Pago wine, crafted by a true master.

Mauro Terreus Paraje de Cueva Baja 2022 presents itself with an intense dark cherry hue and a deep layer that suggests its concentration. On the nose, vibrant notes of red fruits such as raspberries and ripe cherries emerge, accompanied by mineral hints and an elegant undertone of liquorice. On the palate, it offers a broad and juicy experience, with lively tannins that provide structure and depth to the wine. The 2022 vintage is characterised by the perfect ripening of the grapes, achieving an impeccable balance between body and freshness. Ideal for those seeking a wine with character and sophistication.

Fruity and expression of terroir nuanced by toasted notes from the barrel. Docile tannins. A very long and persistent finish.

Picota cherry colour with violet reflections and garnet rim. Clean and bright.

Great intensity on the nose. Minerality with a great aromatic range.

2010 On the palate this wine is powerful, energetic and broad. It shows bulky attack and is clean on the palate, with fine and tasty tannins and a magnificent acidity. Long and very persistent finish.

Picota cherry colour with violet reflections and maroon edges. Clean and bright.

Deliciously intense. This wine exudes an almost perfect balance between liqueur-like ripe black fruit and sublime notes of fine woods. Spicy touches gradually appear, along with liquorice, balsamic notes, rosemary, flowers, violets and mineral notes.
