About Pecat Noble de Calamarsada

Sometimes, the whims of nature turn misfortune into a masterpiece. This is how Pecat Noble de Calamarsada was born, an unexpected result of a hailstorm (calamarsada in Catalan) that battered a xarel·lo vineyard in the heart of Penedès. Where others saw loss, Ramon Jané saw opportunity: the grapes, wounded by the storm, were spontaneously covered in botrytis. A rare, almost miraculous phenomenon that led to a sweet wine with a seductive soul and gastronomic spirit.
 
The winery Mas Candí, established in Les Gunyoles d’Avinyonet (Penedès, Barcelona), is deeply rooted in a commitment to the land and a viticulture heritage dating back to the 17th century. Their wines, crafted with minimal intervention, are born from a profound respect for nature and indigenous varieties like xarel·lo or sumoll. They are innovative vintners, experimenting with honesty and tradition.
 
Pecat Noble de Calamarsada is a distinctive sweet wine, made from xarel·lo harvested after the natural development of botrytis cinerea. Fermented and aged in stainless steel, it boasts an alcohol content of 12.97%, 54 grams of sugar, vibrant acidity, and a delightful aromatic expression.
