About Marie Courtin Cuvée Résonance Extra Brut

Marie Courtin Cuvée Résonance Extra Brut is a sparkling wine made by Marie Courtin with the Pinot Noir variety in the AOC Champagne, in Champagne (France).

Marie Courtin is the winery run by Dominique Moreau, a biodynamic winemaker with plots in the village of Polisot in the Côte des Bars, in the southern part of the Champagne region. Naming the winery after her grandmother, she produces champagnes with minimal intervention, Kimmeridgian soils and spirituality as the main focusses.

Marie Courtin Cuvée Résonance Extra Brut is made from vines with an average age of 35-40 years old. The vines come from a single plot of clay and Kimmeridgian limestone soils. They are cultivated according to biodynamic principles using homeopathic medicine and organic treatments. When the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are harvested by hand.

In the winery, the Marie Courtin Cuvée Résonance Extra Brut grapes are crushed whole with a wooden basket press. The must rests for 24 hours and then ferments spontaneously with native yeasts in stainless steel tanks for 8-10 months. Afterwards, the second fermentation takes place in the bottle where it remains on its lees for two and a half years before disgorging.

Under the name “Résonance” which means “the balancing energies of earth and sky”, Marie Courtin Cuvée Résonance Extra Brut is a vintage champagne from one plot, one variety and one vintage.
