La Danza del Viento La Isilla is a red wine made by 4 Monos Viticultores with the Garnacha Tinta grape variety in the D.O. Vinos de Madrid.
The 4 Monos Viticultores project was set up in the town of Cadalso de los Vidrios by Javier García, Laura Robles, David Moreno and David Velasco, 4 friends who discovered the excellence of the high altitude vineyards in the Sierra de Gredos in Madrid and decided to showcase them faithfully to the world. As a result, they make very personal wines under three denominations of origin: Méntrida (Toledo), Vinos de Madrid (Madrid) and Vinos de la Tierra de Castilla y León (Ávila).
Danza del Viento La Isilla comes from old vines lying 800 metres above sea level in the town of Cadalso de los Vidrios. These are Garnacha vines planted in very fine granitic sandy soils. They are cultivated using respectful agriculture with biological treatments that won’t harm the balance of the terroir. When the grapes reach optimum ripeness, they are manually harvested.
When it comes to vinification La Danza del Viento La Isilla is made with 100% of the stems. Fermentation is spontaneous with indigenous yeasts and a long maceration with minimal extraction. Aging then happens over 12 months in French oak barrels of different sizes.
La Danza del Viento La Isilla is a very limited production wine made in one of the most acclaimed wine regions by experts in recent times. A powerful and elegant Garnacha from the Sierra de Gredos.
