About La Celestina Vendimia Seleccionada

La Celestina Vendimia Seleccionada is a monovarietal Tinto Fino, Tempranillo red wine, made by the Dominio de Atauta winery in the D.O. Ribera del Duero.

Dominio de Atauta is located in the town of Atauta in Soria. The winery's priority to have good wine-making practices because it understands that in order to obtain quality wines you have to start by spoiling the vineyard, which is where the raw material is obtained from.

The vineyards for La Celestina Vendimia Seleccionada are between 60 and 70 years old in the case of those located in Soria, and between 20 and 30 years old in the case of those located in Burgos. The Soria ones are located at an altitude of between 870 and 980 metres and the Burgos ones between 780 and 850. A wide temperature difference between day and night helps the plant to develop better and ripen in a more balanced way. The climate is continental with Mediterranean features: with long, cold winters and short, hot summers.

In preparing La Celestina Vendimia Seleccionada a balance is sought by blending grapes from Soria that provide freshness and balsamic notes and grapes from Burgos that provide structure, smoothness and aromas of more mature fruit.
