About L'Archetipo Radicale Puglia

What do a southern Italian winegrower and a Japanese microbiologist obsessed with not tilling the soil have in common? Much more than it seems.

The story of L'Archetipo begins in Salento, Apulia (Italy), land of sun, olives... and the primitivo grape variety. However, Francesco Valentino Dibenedetto did not wish to produce just another wine with this grape. As the grandson and son of winegrowers, he studied agronomy and, since the 1980s, began transforming the family estate. Initially, organic farming. Then biodynamic. Yet he still felt something was missing.

He then read Masanobu Fukuoka, the wise Japanese advocate of radically natural agriculture: no tilling, no chemicals, no forcing anything. Merely observation, balance, and respect for the ecosystem. Francesco decided to apply this philosophy to the vineyard. As a result, he achieved a completely reimagined primitivo grape. Vibrant. Unrestrained. Authentic.

And this is how it is expressed in L'Archetipo Radicale Puglia, an unadulterated wine that ferments spontaneously with indigenous yeasts, with minimal maceration of just 2 days and a brief maturation in steel and large oak. No over-extraction. No artifices.

L'Archetipo Radicale Puglia is a youthful, juicy wine with an unexpected freshness. As if someone had lightened the load and given wings to the primitivo. A true testament to how wine is, undoubtedly, a genuinely living product.
