If there is one thing that makes the wines of Freiherr von Gleichenstein, the legendary German winery of the Kaiserstuhls (in southwest Germany), completely unmistakable it is their minerality. The Gleichenstein family has had plenty of time (about four centuries in total) to make their wines a brand, an unmistakable sign of identity that makes them recognisable anywhere in the world. Part of this essence has been borrowed from the neighbouring Kollone Null winery (south of Baden) for the production of Kolonne Null Cuvee Blanc no.1 Sparkling Freiherr von Gleichenstein.

Kolonne Null Cuvee Blanc no.1 Sparkling Freiherr von Gleichenstein is an alcohol-free white sparkling wine made from Riesling grown in the vineyards of this legendary winery. Kaiserstuhls in particular has always been famous for its reds; however, the whites grown here on volcanic soils are also worthy of recognition. They have nothing to envy in anything else. Their personality and strength make them perfect to withstand the vacuum distillation process to remove the alcohol.

In principle, there are several methods to remove alcohol from wines; however, after much research, Kolonne Null is committed to this technique where the wine keeps most of its qualities intact.
