About Judith Beck Bambule! Pinot Noir

Between Vienna and Hungary, in the state of Burgenland, lies Gols, a town renowned for its rich winemaking tradition. Among the many notable producers, the name Judith Beck and her biodynamic red Judith Beck Bambule! Pinot Noir will undoubtedly leave a lasting impression.

Since 2007, these have been the guiding principles across the 20 hectares cultivated by this vintner between Lake Neusiedl and Parndorfer Platte. The latter is a flat terrain spanning over 200 km, where clay, sand, and gravel intermingle. Additionally, the strong winds that blow through the region play a crucial role in defining the character of the wines here. In this context, Judith Beck primarily works with indigenous varieties (Zweigelt, Blaufränkisch, St. Laurent, Weissburgunder), as well as some international ones, nurtured with natural remedies and under green cover crops. This approach reflects Beck's formative experiences abroad, in places like Cos d'Estournel and Errazuriz. Judith Beck Bambule! Pinot Noir is crafted from pinot noir grapes from the Kreuzkapelle vineyard in Mönchhof, the coolest site with the highest gravel content, where the variety takes longer to ripen.

In the production process, Judith Beck Bambule! Pinot Noir is entirely natural, without any intervention. The grapes for Judith Beck Bambule! Pinot Noir are handpicked. Half of the batch is destemmed, while the other half is kept with the stems. Both parts undergo an eight-day maceration before Judith Beck Bambule! Pinot Noir is transferred to old barrels for fermentation. Finally, Judith Beck Bambule! Pinot Noir rests for 12 months on its lees before being bottled manually, without the addition of sulfur.

"The international style can be produced by anyone, anywhere. My wines are my own. They are here and now. And that, to me, is the most beautiful thing. Like my life in the vineyards," asserts Judith Beck
