About J.J. Confuron Bourgogne Aligoté

J.J. Confuron Bourgogne Aligoté is a single-variety Aligoté white wine made by Domaine Jean Jacques Confuron in the AOC Bourgogne Aligoté in Burgundy, France.

 

Domaine Jean Jacques Confuron is a family estate in Premeaux-Prissey in the Côte-d'Or, Burgundy, which belonged to Jean-Jacques Confuron and is now run by his daughter Sophie together with her husband Alain Meunier. The estate is made up of eight hectares of vineyards ploughed by horses to avoid compacting the soil and cultivated according to the principles of organic agriculture. The Meunier-Confuron partnership has been the driving force behind environmentally friendly viticulture with the aim of producing high-quality raw materials that result in landscape wines that honestly reflect each variety’s character and include the touch of elegance that sets Burgundy apart.

 

The grapes used to make the J.J. Confuron Bourgogne Aligoté wine come from old vines lying on slopes with clay-calcareous soils. They are vinified in stainless steel vats and the resulting wine ages with its lees but without using a barrel, which helps maintain the tension, acidity and freshness of the Aligoté variety.

 

2018 J.J. Confuron Bourgogne Aligoté 2018 is a profiled white wine with aromas of white fruits accompanied by citrus nuances and a subtle mineral note. On the palate it has a pleasant freshness and balanced acidity. A great introduction to Burgundy white wines.
