About Gramona Celler Batlle

Gramona Celler Batlle is a sparkling wine Corpinnat produced by the Gramona winery in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia.

Gramona was founded in 1881 in Sant Sadurní d'Anoia. After more than 130 years of experience in producing sparkling wines and wines, the fifth generation is currently in charge of the business, continuing with the family tradition and the philosophy they have applied in focusing their work on the winery over the years.

These past few years, Gramona has evolved in terms of the way it treats its vineyards, moving into organic agriculture and biodynamics, achieving the maximum balance of the vines with their surroundings, and in doing so filling all its wines with character and uniqueness.

Gramona Celler Batlle is a sparkling wine made from Xarello and Maccabeu grapes from their own vineyards. From the Font de Jui paraje calificado. 22.5 hectares at an altitude of 350 meters, with chalky-clay soils, sandy plates along the river and a profusion of rock in the highest and driest area. Cultivated organically and employing a biodynamic philosophy.

After being harvested manually into 20 kg boxes, all the grapes pass over the selection table in the winery. Once the grapes enter by gravity, the whole grape is gently pressed. After the initial fermentation, the second fermentation takes place in the bottle for a minimum aging period of 120 months stacked with a cork stopper. After this time the stirring and disgorgement is performed manually and winery’s centennial solera liqueur tirage is added with 7 gr/liter of sugar.

Gramona Celler Batlle 2014 exhibits a straw-yellow hue with brilliant golden highlights. On the nose, it is intense and complex, with notes of peach, quince, and golden apple, accompanied by aromas of bread crumb, brioche, toasted hazelnuts, cinnamon, and vanilla. On the palate, it has a powerful and nuanced entry, with a perfect balance between maturity and freshness. The fine and creamy bubbles caress the palate, and the finish brings mineral reminiscences and a creamy profile.

2011

Gramona Celler Batlle 2011 is an exceptionally expressive and mineral-driven dry sparkling wine (with less than 12 g/L of sugar). It boasts a straw-yellow hue, followed by an intensely aromatic and intricate bouquet, bursting with a spectrum of scents: ripe white fruits (peaches, apples, quince), citrus zest (lemon peel), aromatic herbs (bay leaf), and white blossoms (orange blossom). These nuances are beautifully interwoven with aging notes ranging from nuts (hazelnuts, almonds), praline, vanilla, to brioche. This diversity and depth of aromas persist on the palate, where the wine reveals its powerful character and gracefully transitions to mineral undertones. Exceptionally well-balanced, it features a delicate and seamlessly integrated mousse, contributing to a smooth texture. The finish is delicately smooth and subtly lingering.
2010 Gramona Celler Batlle 2010 is an intense and complex sparkling wine with aromas of ripe fruits on the nose, like Golden apples, peaches and quince accompanied by herbal nuances, white flowers and citrus fruits like lemon, as well as the notes it inherits from the aging process. On the palate it is unctuous and elegant, with a creamy bubble that caresses the palate. A sparkling wine that perfectly balances maturity and freshness.
2007 Gramona Celler Batlle 2007 is a mature, creamy and distinguished cava. An excellent vintage, with great quality and a low production of only 2,900 bottles. The nose is intense, with aromas of frosty white fruit, baked apple and apricots, with slight notes of aromatic herbs and lemon peel, on a toasted and fresh yeast base note. On the palate it is intense and silky. With a fine bubble and a lingering and surprisingly fresh finish.
2004 A very expressive dry cava, with a great, tasty and delicate attack. Creamy and unctuous texture. Its ageing is reflected by the great background freshness that will surprise us in a cava of this age. Perfectly well-integrated carbonic acid gas. Excellent acidity. Long aftertaste with fruity reminiscences. One of the most elegant, serious and tasty cavas.

2002 A real pleasure! A dry, very expressive cava, with a great, very tasty and delicate attack and a creamy and unctuous texture. Its maturity is very clearly reflected in the freshness noticed in its background which is quite amazing in such an aged cava. It has a perfectly integrated fizziness and excellent acidity. A serious, tasty and one of the finest cavas.

Impressive expression of aromas with notes of white fruit and herbal hints which are released along with notes provided during the ageing: nuts, very creamy notes of bakery, hints of vanilla and toffee notes. Its serious and very fresh background provides it with a striking contrast between the freshness and the ripeness of this great cava.
2000 Very good mouth opening. Small bubble, which in turn lets us enjoy the glyceric texture that immerses us a feeling of pleasure. Expressive retronasal that confirms the maturity and long aging seen in the nose with a whisper of mineral notes. Long aftertaste with fruity memories.
