About Geschickt Pinot Noir

When a mare is part of a winemaking project, we know we are looking at a winery with a biodynamic philosophy. This is how Aurélie Fayolle and Arnaud Geschickt have involved Iris, a strong mare they use for all their field work, into their daily routine. Demeter certified since 1998, their Domaine Geschickt has become one of the pioneers of natural winemaking in Alsace, specifically in Ammerschwihr in Haut-Rhin, and, letting nature speak for itself, they make pure, juicy and simply delicious wines.

That makes Geschickt Pinot Noir a Pinot Noir that is pure fruit. A red wine that comes from 100% sustainable vines from the family estate where no chemicals are used and where resources are self-generated for the good of the ecosystem. All work is manual, with the help of Iris and taking into account the lunar calendar. Once the grapes reach the winery, vinification is carefully carried out in an Alsatian foudre, without adding or extracting anything. Spontaneous fermentation with native yeasts produces a wine that is pure juice. It is then aged on the lees and finally bottled without refining or adding sulphites.

The 2005 edition of the “Sotheby’s Wine Encyclopedia”, written by experts from around the world and reflecting the latest trends in the dynamic wine world, describes this winery as pioneers of biodynamics in Alsace, this is an example of 100% pure Demeter work. Geschickt Pinot Noir is fresh, fruity and fine, but above all very pure.

 

2019

Geschickt Pinot Noir 2019 is a juicy red wine with aromas of fresh red fruit, spicy notes and touches of undergrowth. On the palate it is fresh, light and easy to drink. A wine with marked tannins, refreshing acidity and a fruity finish that will leave you wanting more.
