About Fasoli Gino Corte del Pozzo Bardolino

To be a pioneer means to venture into the unknown, often without certainties, but with the firm conviction of opening new possibilities. Thus, in the early 1980s, while most European vineyards continued to rely on chemical products, the Fasoli family in Veneto (Italy) made a landmark decision to convert their vineyards to organic farming, becoming a benchmark in sustainable practices. Today, under the stewardship of Matteo Fasoli (4th generation), the winery Fasoli Gino remains committed to treating its 14 hectares of vineyards located in the Illasi Valley (between Verona and Soave) with organic treatments and biodynamic practices. As a result, they present a portfolio of fantastic wines, true to their origins, that serve as a source of inspiration and support for other producers, not only in Veneto and Italy, but throughout Europe.

An example of this work is found in Fasoli Gino Corte del Pozzo Bardolino, a red wine made from the corvina, corvinone, and rondinella varieties that grow on a beautiful hill overlooking Lake Garda on morainic soil (with clay, stone, and sand). The cultivation is organic and, after the harvest, the grapes are transported to the winery as quickly as possible. There, they are carefully selected and crushed, and then fermentation begins in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature. Finally, the wine is left to harmonise on the fine lees for around 6 months.

Under the DOC Bardolino, Fasoli Gino Corte del Pozzo Bardolino is the authentic expression of a unique territory. A wine born from an open-minded approach that radiates minerality, a result of the morainic soil and the lake breeze.

2022

Fasoli Gino Corte del Pozzo Bardolino 2022 is an Italian red wine that presents with a brilliant ruby-red hue. On the nose, it offers elegant notes of blackcurrants, blackberries, and sour cherries, accompanied by subtle hints of other fruits. On the palate, it is wonderfully dry, round, and smooth, with a silky texture and balanced fruity acidity that imparts a velvety sensation without losing vivacity. The finish is fluid and leaves a beautiful aftertaste that invites continued enjoyment.
