About Château La Tour Figeac
In 1994 Otto Rettenmaier fell madly in love with La Tour Figeac, the Grand Crû of the A.O.C. Saint-Émilion which had belonged to his family for more than 20 years. His passion for the country and his adoration for its red wine made him take the reins of this business. And we can guarantee that Otto Rettenmaier is not the only one. You too will fall in love with the red wines of the A.O.C. Saint-Émilion with Château La Tour Figeac.
Officially, Château La Tour Figeac was founded in 1879; however, its origins go back many years, concentrating on the 3rd century, when this 14.5 hectare vineyard was part of Château Figeac. However, the properties were separated. Until then, even the Romans were able to enjoy these wines, grown in the famous Graves de Saint-Émilion, where there are mostly sandy gravels on sandy and clay subsoils. This large plot, which is organically cultivated under the direction and guidance of Stéphane Derenoncourt, is bordered by Château Cheval Bland to the east, the A.O.C. Pomerol to the west, and Château Figeac to the south. The vines, with an average age of 36 years, are the origin of the Merlot and Cabernet Franc used to make these wines.
In the winery, the aim is to ensure that all wines are the purest expression of the terroir. From the very beginning, at the time of harvest, all activities and operations involved in making Château La Tour Figeac are carried out with the utmost care and gentleness. After selection and destemming, the whole, unpressed berries are transferred to stainless steel tanks. Here begins the fermentation of Château La Tour Figeac, which will last about four weeks. During this time, daily pumping over is carried out to extract a large amount of colour and aromas. Once finished, Château La Tour Figeac is transferred to French oak barrels where it rests for about 15 months before blending.
After the cuvées have been blended, where the real magic happens and its true character is forged, Château La Tour Figeac is released for sale. Ready to fall in love and steal hearts.

| 2021 | Château La Tour Figeac 2021 is a concentrated, complex and fragrant, very juicy red wine. The nose is intense with notes of red fruits, cherries, fresh mint, clay earth and rose petals. The palate is smooth, spicy and silky, with smooth tannins. Flavoursome and very succulent. |
