About Château d'Astros Moon Rosé
In contemporary agriculture, it is not solely about soil, nutrients, and seasons. An increasing number of vintners are gazing skyward to enhance their connection with the earth. For now, they work not only with the forces of the soil but also with those emanating from much further afield: the rhythm of the sun, the phases of the moon, the zodiac constellations, and even the influence of the planets.
This philosophy is embraced at Château d'Astros, an estate in Provence that seems straight out of an adventure novel. Its history intertwines Knights Templar, Renaissance spirit, and Marseille bourgeoisie, all set within a landscape of 680 hectares where nature still expresses itself freely.
And it is here, amidst wild fields and vineyards bathed in southern light, that the Moon collection is born, a series of wines celebrating the ancient bond between wine and the celestial bodies. Three bottles, three lunar phases, three harvest moments connected with the heavenly cycles.
In the case of Château d’Astros Moon Rosé, it is a balanced and elegant rosé, crafted from Garnacha and Syrah, two emblematic varieties of Provence (France) that thrive on calcareous soils under the clear Mediterranean sky.
The harvest is conducted swiftly and precisely, with grapes meticulously selected and gently pressed. Fermentation occurs in stainless steel tanks at controlled temperatures, followed by ageing on fine lees, which imparts texture, complexity, and a delightful freshness.
The result? Château d’Astros Moon Rosé, a wine that not only shines with its pale and delicate hue but also with its vitality. One of those rosés that are not merely drunk, but experienced.
| 2023 | Château d'Astros Moon Rosé 2023 is a rosé wine that invites you to close your eyes and transport yourself to a sunlit day in Provence. Its pale hue is merely the beginning of its allure. On the nose, it evokes memories of delicate strawberries and ripe apricots, with a subtle floral undertone. Upon tasting, it reveals itself as smooth and fresh on the palate, with a silky texture that unfolds gradually. Its elegant dryness and the vibrant mineral touch on the finish make it a distinctive and well-balanced rosé. This wine is an ideal choice for those seeking a refreshing and sophisticated experience. |
