Tasting notes Carrasviñas Sauvignon Blanc 2025
White wine.
Carrasviñas Sauvignon Blanc 2025 presents a charming pale straw yellow hue with greenish reflections that captivate at first glance. On the nose, it offers a true array of exotic aromas such as passion fruit, mango, and fresh pineapple, interwoven with citrus hints of lime, floral notes of elderflower, and a distinctive herbaceous and tomato leaf background. On the palate, it feels fresh and lively, with a balanced acidity that makes it irresistibly refreshing. Its finish is pleasant and long-lasting, with a citrus touch and a slight minerality. This wine is ideal for those moments when you seek an easy-to-enjoy wine, evocative of outdoor strolls and natural freshness.

About Carrasviñas Sauvignon Blanc
Today, you can find Verdejo white wine on any Spanish summer terrace as soon as the heat arrives. However, in the 1970s, the reality in the Castilian countryside was entirely different. Félix Lorenzo Cachazo was one of those true visionaries who laid the foundations for the region's modern white wines, convinced that this grape, then sidelined and on the verge of extinction, had enormous potential beyond the historic solera or dorado wines, made with oxidative ageing in the sun. Decades later, Bodegas Félix Lorenzo Cachazo remains one of the few entirely family-run wineries in Rueda. His children, Eduardo and Ángela, continue their father's legacy with the same pride, demonstrating that defending the authenticity and memory of the land is the best way to produce wines with soul.
From Pozaldez, in the province of Valladolid, this wine is produced under the protection of the Denominación de Origen Rueda. The grapes come from old vineyards and selected plots that the family cultivates at an altitude of over 750 metres above sea level, exposed to the vastness of the Castilian plain. The soils are the traditional gravelly ones of the area, characterised by an abundance of pebbles on the surface that drain water and return heat to the plant, over a clayey subsoil that retains the necessary moisture. The climate is strictly continental, with cold winters, hot summers, and a marked diurnal temperature variation that allows for slow ripening. The variety used is exclusively Verdejo, cultivated using a traditional viticulture model that respects the ecosystem.
The production of Carrasviñas Verdejo is carried out with precision to preserve the maximum freshness of the grape. The harvest is conducted through night harvesting to take advantage of the cooler temperatures and prevent the fruit from oxidising. Once at the winery, the bunches are destemmed and undergo a short cold maceration with their skins before a gentle pressing. The must undergoes a natural static settling, a cold decantation process to cleanse the juice of impurities before fermentation. The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless-steel tanks at controlled temperatures. Finally, the wine undergoes ageing on its fine lees, gaining volume and structure on the palate before being fined and bottled.
Carrasviñas Verdejo is an honest, broad, and deeply balanced white wine. A vibrant Verdejo that represents modern Rueda and demonstrates how the vision of a pioneering family can forever transform the history of an entire region.
