About Biondi-Santi Rosso di Montalcino 2021

There are wines that seem to encapsulate the history of a place in every sip, and Rosso di Montalcino de Biondi-Santi is one such wine. Originally known as Brunello White Label, due to its white label, it was renamed in 1983 with the establishment of the DOC Rosso di Montalcino. This 100% sangiovese faithfully embodies the style that defines all the wines from this estate: a perfect balance between tradition, freshness, and expression of the terroir.

Behind this wine lies a project that has sustained the vision of Clemente Santi and his grandson Ferruccio for nearly a century and a half. Each bottle is the result of a commitment to excellence and authenticity, blending respect for tradition with a vision of quality that spans generations.

The grapes originate from the estate's own vineyards, spread across the historic Tenuta Greppo, to the southeast of Montalcino, Ribusuoli, just below it, and Pievecchia, to the north of the municipality. These three iconic plots contribute unique character, capturing the diversity of the terroir and the identity of the region.

The winemaking process respects the tradition and purity of the grape: fermentation in stainless steel, maceration with the skins to extract aromas and structure, and aging for 12 months in Slavonian oak barrels, sufficient to impart elegance and balance without losing freshness or fruit.

Rosso di Montalcino de Biondi-Santi is a celebration of sangiovese and the essence of Montalcino. A fragrant, fruity, and vibrant soul that invites enjoyment from the very first moment.
