About Manzanilla Nave Trinidad en Rama

In 1519, five ships, under the command of Magellan, set sail from the port of Sanlúcar de Barrameda with the aim of establishing a new trade route westward, between the Atlantic and Pacific Oceans. This expedition, funded by the Spanish crown, was the first to successfully circumnavigate the globe. One of the ships that achieved this feat was named Trinidad.

Thus, this feminine name was etched into history as a synonym for adventure and discovery. For this reason — also following the unwritten tradition of naming manzanillas after women —, Barbadillo has chosen this name for one of its manzanillas: Manzanilla Nave Trinidad en Rama. The reason? Because it is the perfect wine to delve into the world of fortified wines.

Manzanilla Nave Trinidad en Rama is a smooth, young, and fresh manzanilla, crafted to appeal to novice drinkers — and not so novice — who are less acquainted with the complex flavours and nuances presented by some wines of the DO Manzanilla - Sanlúcar de Barrameda.

Like any other manzanilla, the story of Manzanilla Nave Trinidad en Rama begins in the fields, on the albariza soil, with palomino fino. From there, it moves to the El Toro winery (the first purchased by Benigno Barbadillo and Manuel López Barbadillo in 1821), where biological ageing under flor yeast begins. Specifically, for this wine, Barbadillo opted for the creation of a new solera that has been established in the Nave Trinidad, one of the four areas (each with its own ageing conditions) into which this winery is divided, and which was named by the founders of the winery. It all fits together! Finally, after several months of testing, Montse Molina (the winery's oenologist) has succeeded in finding the desired character, dedicating 36 casks to carefully preserving this wine, which is bottled unfiltered and unclarified.

Manzanilla Nave Trinidad en Rama is more than a wine: it is an entire adventure embarked upon by Barbadillo, where everyone is welcome. Are you in?
