About Remirez de Ganuza Gran Reserva

Remirez de Ganuza Gran Reserva is an excellent wine from La Rioja made by the Remírez de Ganuzawinery. It is one of the emblematic wines, and one that best demonstrates the essence of the winery.

The 2004 vintage scored 100 Parker points, with the American critic thus acknowledging the perfection he found in this wine.

Remirez de Ganuza Gran Reserva is made with grapes of the Tempranillo and Graciano varieties (90% and 10% respectively) from vineyards with an average age of 60 years on estates near the winery.

The harvest is done by hand into 12kg boxes that ensure the optimum condition of the grapes when they reach the winery.
The grapes are selected on selection tables, and once the best bunches have been chosen they are separated into tips and shoulders.
The shoulders, the highest part of the bunch and therefore more exposed to the sun and riper, are earmarked to produce Remírez de Ganuza Gran Reserva.

A malolactic fermentation is carried out in new barrels and aged for 39 months in new French oak barrels.

A true La Rioja gem, of which only 2,400 bottles are produced.  

2005 It is powerful, tasty and fleshy. It shows a soft and velvety attack and a great balance between the fruit and the ageing. Finish with many aromatic reminiscences, from black fruit to balsamic notes, going through toasted hints and cocoa.

Bright cherry red colour with ruby red sparkles in the edge. High robe. Thin and intense slow-falling tear which slightly colours the glass.

Intense, penetrating and complex aroma. Powerful aromas of ripe black fruit in a background of sweet spices, balsamic and smoked nuances. We can perceive a creamy and embracing oak hint very integrated in the whole.
