About Pedro Parra y Familia Imaginador

Pedro Parra y Familia Imaginador is an organic red wine made by Pedro Parra with the Cinsault variety in the Southern Wine Region (Chile) in the Itata Valley.
 
A prestigious wine consultant and a true fan of the terroir, Pedro Parra has worked with producers from all over the world. He gained over 15 years’ experience that he could then use to make his dream come true: making his own wines in his hometown of Concepción. Using old vines planted in granite soils and with minimal intervention, Pedro, known as “Señor Terroir” is known as the pioneer of “New Chile”, a movement that is working to redefine Chilean wine. 
 
Pedro Parra y Familia Imaginador comes from four old vineyards in the town of Guarilihue, in the Itata Valley. These are old vines, aged between 70 and 110 years old and planted on slopes with granite soils. They are cultivated using ecological agriculture and the harvest is carried out manually when the grapes reach optimum ripeness. 
 
In the winery, all of the Pedro Parra y Familia Imaginador grapes are vinified together to create a unique blend of old vineyards. Fermentation is spontaneous with native yeasts and, without racking, they age in a combination of concrete vats and oak foudres.
 
In short, Pedro Parra y Familia Imaginador started as just a dream for Pedro Parra, a winemaker who champions the development of unique wines from old vines and granite soils. Pure minerality!
2018

Pedro Parra y Familia Imaginador 2018 is a smooth red wine with elegant aromas of red fruits, violets and roses. On the palate it is very fresh, light and energetic. A deep red wine with a concentrated mineral core and mouth-watering acidity. The finish is pleasant with a slight smoky touch.
