About La Sorga Canoë

Although not everyone likes to experiment with new sensations, variety is the spice of life. Just ask Anthony Tortul, a minimal intervention winegrower who is not fixed to any one terroir so he can make use of a wide variety of vineyards spread throughout the Languedoc. In total, he has about 40 hectares of geologically very diverse soils, planted with more than 20 varieties. These are old vines cultivated using organic or biodynamic agriculture, with low yields and high concentration. As a result, every year this intrepid winegrower presents an impressive catalogue of single-plot wines under his La Sorga brand, without ever blending two plots to showcase the purity of the terroir.

Bearing in mind that every La Sorga wine is made without any additives either in the field or in the winery, La Sorga Canoë is a clear example of their great work. A wine made with the Sauvignon Blanc, Muscadelle and Len de l'El varieties planted in clay-limestone soils in the village of Montels. Using organic techniques and biodynamic treatments, he grows a pure grape that is harvested by hand in 15 kg crates. Then when the grapes reach the winery they are gently pressed and undergo skin-contact maceration for 40 days without being destemmed. Alcoholic fermentation takes place with native yeasts and finally the wine spends 11 months in stainless steel tanks. When the wine is ready, it is bottled without filtering, clarifying or adding sulphites.

The Sorga Canoë is not more of the same. This is an exciting cuvée designed for all those who are curious to experience new sensations. Pure emotion!
