Many refer to the D.O. Montsant as "the hidden gem". Its vineyards—and the wines they yield, of course—have become a benchmark for connoisseurs and enthusiasts across the globe. And rightfully so! In this northeastern region of Spain, viticulture has been practiced for millennia, with a deep commitment to preserving nature and adhering to the highest environmental standards. This is certainly the ethos at Cellers Unió, where the esteemed Cellers Unió Perlat Garnatxa is crafted.

Following Tempranillo, Garnatxa ranks as the second most widely cultivated grape in Spain. It is a varietal exceedingly well-suited to the Iberian climate, characterized by high temperatures and drought conditions. Specifically, within the microclimate of D.O. Montsant, the influence of the surrounding mountains is significant, as they are cradled by the Ebro River and the maritime breezes. Consequently, despite its Mediterranean climate, the area is noted for its stark contrasts, bestowing upon it continental nuances with cold winters and dry, hot summers.

Cellers Unió Perlat Garnatxa is produced sustainably, with utmost respect for the environment, ensuring that each cluster of grapes is carefully tended to during the pressing and fermenting processes, and later matured for over ten months in oak barrels.
